Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions in Phoenix, AZ seeks a hands-on Tax Manager to take full ownership of the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, supervise return work, and coach a team of tax accountants.

You will also drive process improvement, controls, and tax-related initiatives, collaborating with internal and external auditors and management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate.
Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
CPA, Master's in Taxation, or industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities.
Work directly with internal and external auditors.
Research and deliver tax information requested by management and outside parties.
Support related areas including sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, and incentives.
Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics.
