Job summary

Ladders is partnering with a client in the Education, Government & Non‑Profit sector to hire a Head of Talent who will lead senior-level searches and shape the hiring function.

This role emphasizes sourcing, screening, and process improvements, partnering with hiring managers to ensure a professional candidate experience in a mission-driven, bipartisan setting with interest in AI, technology policy, and national-security issues.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of recruiting or talent experience for director-level roles and above.
• Experience enhancing hiring processes for efficiency.
• Strong interpersonal skills for evaluating candidates virtually and in person.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple open searches.
• Excellent communication with Google Workspace and Greenhouse proficiency.
• Ability to navigate a bipartisan environment with diverse political backgrounds.
• Interest in AI, technology policy, or national-security issues.

Responsibilities

• Review applications and conduct first-round candidate screenings for a variety of roles
• Project manage multiple hiring searches to ensure timely progress and prevent overload
• Source and engage candidates through networking events, job boards, and direct outreach for senior roles
• Improve the hiring process by implementing best practices and increasing screening efficiency
• Draft and update job descriptions and maintain the careers page
• Manage candidate pipelines and keep the applicant tracking system current and organized
• Coordinate interview schedules between candidates and hiring managers for a smooth process
• Keep candidates updated throughout the hiring stages and represent the organization professionally
• Track and report on recruiting metrics to assess hiring effectiveness and process improvements
