Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer – SME to guide and mentor the West Service Area field team while performing hands-on work. You will integrate fiber and IP circuits and lead the migration of legacy copper (TDM) to modern IP networks across the NAS.

You’ll validate requirements, support hardware and software teams, and ensure performance through testing and dashboards. Expect 100% local travel to FAA facilities and regional postings in Seattle/Salt Lake City.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (4 years of relevant experience can replace degree).
12+ years of hands-on experience in telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning.
Deep technical command of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, IPv6 for telecom infrastructure and TDM-to-IP conversion.
Hands-on experience with optical networking (fiber) and server-level deployments; testing and validation.
Proven ability to model network growth and optimize capacity during large-scale upgrades.
Experience with ground networks, air-to-ground systems, and mission-critical telecom

Responsibilities

Lead design, integration, and testing of NAS-supporting systems; translate architecture into IP network solutions.
Direct full lifecycle migration of TDM circuits to IP-based systems with smooth cutovers and testing.
Assess requirements and communicate design changes to hardware and software teams.
Provide hands-on infrastructure support and resolve bottlenecks during multi-state deployments.
Use dashboards and KPIs to verify reliability and resilience of fiber installations.
Deliver clear status updates and briefings to stakeholders and senior leadership.
