Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer for the Telecommunications Team West to lead and mentor on NAS integration projects and guide the migration of legacy TDM systems to modern fiber and IP networks across the NAS. The role requires deep telecom expertise, multi-state deployment experience, and collaboration with hardware and software teams to ensure performance and reliability.

Seattle-based with 100% local travel within the region, supporting FAA sites.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (4 additional years of relevant experience can be accepted in lieu of degree)
12+ years of hands-on experience in telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning.
Deep technical command of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6, specifically telecommunications infrastructure for TDM-to-IP conversion.
Hands-on experience with optical networking (fiber), telecom network infrastructure hardware, server-level deployments, testing, validation and acceptance.
Proven ability to model network growth and optimize capacity during large-scale system upgrades.
Telecommunications infrastructure experience with ground networks, air to ground systems and technologies.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, integration, and testing of NAS-supporting systems; turn early architecture into working IP network solutions.
Direct full life cycle of network infrastructure and software projects from planning to deployment.
Assess requirements and communicate design changes to hardware and software teams.
Work with network protocols and server hardware to resolve bottlenecks during multi-state deployments.
Use dashboards and KPIs to verify reliability and resilience of new fiber installations.
Provide clear status updates, dashboards, and briefings to stakeholders and leadership.
