Job summary

Peraton in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer – SME Telecommunications Team West to advance NAS modernization and BNATCS deployment. You will mentor the West field team while performing hands-on integration of fiber and IP circuits, migrating legacy TDM to IP across the NAS.

You will lead end-to-end design, testing, deployment, and performance validation, with travel to FAA facilities and a focus on reliability. U.S. citizenship and clearance requirements apply.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (4 additional years of relevant experience can be accepted in lieu of degree).
• 12+ years of hands-on experience in telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning.
• Deep technical command of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6, specifically telecommunications infrastructure for TDM-to-IP conversion.
• Hands-on experience with optical networking (fiber) and server-level deployments.
• Experience modeling network growth and optimizing capacity during large-scale upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, integration, and testing of NAS support systems and translate architecture drawings into IP network solutions.
• Direct full life cycle of network projects, migrating from TDM to IP with smooth cutovers and thorough testing.
• Assess requirements and communicate design changes to hardware and software teams.
• Work with network protocols and server hardware to resolve bottlenecks during multi-state deployments.
• Use dashboards and KPIs to verify reliability and resilience of fiber installations.
• Provide clear status updates and briefings to stakeholders and leadership.
