Job summary

Voyager Technologies seeks a Systems Engineer VI – Systems to lead architecture, verification, and lifecycle execution for complex defense systems. Based in Folsom, CA with options for Reno, NV or remote work, you will set technical standards, guide MBSE efforts, and coordinate cross-domain engineering across multi-program initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, participate in SRR/ PDR/ CDR/ TRR reviews, and ensure traceability, verification, and regulatory compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or related STEM field with 15 years of experience in systems engineering or related discipline, or Master’s Degree with 13 years, or 19 years in lieu of a degree, or HS diploma.
• Deep familiarity with MDA processes, CDRL development, and SE lifecycle standards.
• Expert-level proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
• Authoritative knowledge of SE lifecycle standards (INCOSE SE Handbook, MIL-STD-499).
• Significant experience applying MBSE using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw).
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the site technical authority for systems engineering across programs; establish standards and processes.
• Define site requirements management strategy with traceability and verification policies.
• Define system architecture strategy and guidance for verification and validation.
• Provide cross-domain SE leadership coordinating propulsion, software, hardware, GNC, and test disciplines.
• Own site risk management strategy and escalation frameworks across programs.
• Lead reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and govern change control and configuration management.
• Provide MBSE leadership; guide SysML modeling and digital engineering alignment.
• Act as technical liaison with customer and suppliers on flowdown and issue resolution.
• Mentor junior and mid-level systems engineers to raise process maturity.
