Serco Inc. in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the US Navy Virginia Class Submarine Program (PMS450).

You will join a dynamic team providing technical and programmatic support to submarine programs and work with Navy stakeholders to ensure design certification readiness. The role emphasizes system integration, requirements alignment, test planning, and coordination across multidisciplinary engineers.

Qualifications

  • Active or Current DoD Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, physics, etc).
  • 4 years additional experience with HS diploma or 2 years with an Associate’s degree in lieu of a bachelor's.
  • 15 years of experience.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; able to meet with program officials and influence actions.
  • Experience briefing senior leaders.
  • Proficient with MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Support NEWCON development and certification activities for Virginia Class Submarines within PMS450.
  • Lead System Integration Team (SIT) coordination, providing technical guidance and aligning multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manage requirements alignment and ensure consistency across program documentation.
  • Coordinate and support test and evaluation planning and execution.
  • Review engineering deliverables for alignment with requirements and standards.
  • Provide systems engineering analysis in coordination with leadership and the Technical Director.
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders for requirements and integration objectives.
  • Interface with PMS450 and stakeholders for technical inquiries and data exchange.
  • Participate in technical meetings to resolve integration and execution issues.
  • Support tasking coordination, tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure documentation follows routing, review, and concurrence processes.
  • Maintain Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for NEWCON design certification readiness.
  • Support configuration management and design certification activities.
  • Apply root cause analysis to system-level issues.
  • Present technical summaries and recommendations from analyses.
