Job summary

Vosper Thornycroft Group is seeking a Mid to Senior Systems Engineer (SPC 4) in Washington, DC to support the Conventional Prompt Strike program for Navy CPS, providing engineering support across multiple disciplines and coordinating with government teams. The role is onsite at the Washington Navy Yard with occasional telework.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the following for the Journey Level: a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, or a master’s degree and 2+ years, or no degree with 8+ years of specific task experience.
• Must have one of the following for the Senior level: a bachelor’s degree and 11+ years of experience, or a master’s degree and 6+ years of experience.
• Active Secret level clearance and ability to sustain one.
• US Citizen.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Design studies and evaluations across R&D, production and operations.
• Review and advise CPS program office on technical documentation submissions.
• Provide engineering support and advisement for complex systems.
• Assess system development, improvements and optimization opportunities.
• Perform risk assessments using modeling and simulation.
• Track and resolve system engineering issues across interfaces and design changes.
• Prepare technical presentations and papers for reviews and boards.
• Coordinate with CPS stakeholders and government teams as needed.
• Identify technical issues and facilitate timely design decisions.
• Develop risk mitigation plans for cost, schedule and technical issues.
• Provide weekly progress reports on significant issues.
• Support transition of R&D to production and manage technical activities.
• Support cross-discipline topics: Electrical, Mechanical, Navigation, Guidance, Telemetry, Flight Software, etc.
• Provide configuration management and auditing for baselines and documentation.
• Provide IA support: identify risks, develop controls, test security tools and policies.
