Job summary

Serco is seeking a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer to support the Virginia Class Submarine Program (PMS450) in the Washington, DC area. The role focuses on design, development, and testing across powder-bed and powder-fed additive processes, with emphasis on machine, software, part design, and process optimization.

Qualifications

  • Active DoW Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in propulsion component design or metallic additive technologies.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; able to meet with program officials and influence actions needed to meet technical program milestones.
  • Experience briefing senior leaders.
  • Proficient with MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently, with tight deadlines.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Plan Acquisition Management solutions and support mid-level initiatives.
  • Provide AM engineering consulting support and participate in technical reviews.
  • Review and evaluate production design data; prepare, test and evaluate AM engineering changes.
  • Recommend risk mitigation strategies for production and migration.
  • Advise on issues including migration, program schedule, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Collaborate with engineers to refine designs and optimize parts for additive manufacturing.
  • Communicate results and feedback to Responsible Engineers to mature development processes.
