Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) for a 100% U.S.-based remote role with VA. You will provide day-to-day operational support, troubleshoot outages, and collaborate across development, operations, and security teams to ensure system reliability and security.

Required: 8+ years in production systems, 3+ years SQL/query monitoring, extensive cloud experience (AWS/Azure). U.S. citizenship and Public Trust (MBI) eligibility are mandatory.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, production environments
• 3+ years of experience with SQL queries and monitoring
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services and cloud-native technologies
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize system performance and reliability
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope
• Document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools
• Work with customers in day-to-day activities and respond to user issues
• Maintain inventory and ensure security and compliance with VA standards
