Job summary

SAIC in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement and maintain complex infrastructure and software systems for National Leadership Authority capabilities. The role requires deep understanding of system architecture, Protected SATCOM Terminal configurations, and security protocols to ensure robust, scalable environments.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, CS or related field.
• 14+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years experience in Systems Engineering: requirements, baseline development, test planning and integration, verification and validation.
• Experience developing or managing requirements or ICDs for complex systems.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Will be required to work on-site in a secure facility.
• Desirable: Top Secret clearance, Master’s degree in a technical field, MILSATCOM experience, experience with military and DoD civilians, experience with ground and airborne systems, knowledge of Agile Development and collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence), professional certifications (PMP, INCOSE CSEP or ESEP).

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering & integration activities for next‑generation space communication systems.
• Interface with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and USSF members to provide acquisition management development and support.
• Oversee requirements analysis, development, delivery and implementation; lead technical projects and contribute to best practices and documentation.
