Job summary

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, CS or related field.
• 14+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years experience in Systems Engineering: requirements, baseline development, test planning and integration, verification and validation.
• Experience developing or managing requirements or ICDs for complex systems.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Will be required to work on-site in a secure facility.
• Desirable: Top Secret clearance, Master’s degree in a technical field, MILSATCOM experience, experience with military and DoD civilians, experience with ground and airborne systems, knowledge of Agile Development and collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence), professional certifications (PMP, INCOSE CSEP or ESEP).

Senior Systems Engineer – El Segundo, CA. Join SAIC’s team supporting the Military Satellite Communications (MSEIT) contract, focusing on design, implementation and maintenance of complex infrastructure and software systems for National Leadership Authority capabilities.

The role requires deep understanding of system architecture, Protected SATCOM Terminal configurations, and security protocols to ensure robust, scalable, secure environments. You will collaborate with outside organizations to analyze requirements, oversee development, delivery and implementation, lead technical projects, and contribute to best practices and documentation.

Key responsibilities include leading systems engineering & integration activities for next‑generation space communication systems, interfacing with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and USSF members to provide acquisition management development and support.

Benefits

Target salary range: $160,001 – $200,000, based on experience and other factors.
