Job summary

HID Global in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain production-grade server, storage, and cloud infrastructure.

You will optimize performance, lead automation, manage backups and DR, support on-call rotations, and collaborate across Security, DevOps, Network, and Applications teams to ensure platform stability and rapid incident remediation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• 5+ years of systems engineering or operations experience.
• Strong expertise with Linux and/or Windows server administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain server, storage, and cloud infrastructure across environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance to meet SLAs.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and incident handling.
• Serve as escalation point for complex issues, drive RCAs and remediation.
• Develop and maintain detailed system architecture docs, runbooks, and standards.
• Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• Collaborate with Security, DevOps, Network Engineering, and Applications teams for stability.
• Drive lifecycle management including patching, upgrades, and capacity planning.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and processes to improve operations.
• Design and deploying new infrastructure solutions.
• Automating workflows, provisioning, and system management tasks.
• Lead root-cause analysis and remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for platform improvements.
• Support SAFe/Agile ceremonies and iterative delivery cycles.
• Participate in capacity planning and roadmapping.
