Job summary

HID Global is seeking a Systems Operations Engineer in Salt Lake City to support reliability, performance, and security of core systems and infrastructure. You will deploy, configure, and maintain servers and cloud resources, monitor performance, and assist in automation under guidance from senior engineers.

The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and contributing to runbooks, backups, and disaster recovery while participating in SAFe/Agile ceremonies and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of systems administration/operations experience.
• Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows server administration.
• Exposure to AWS/Azure/GCP preferred.
• Basic scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist deployment, configuration, and maintenance of server, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and escalate issues to ensure high availability and SLA adherence.
• Support automation efforts with scripts and provisioning/configuration tools.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and incident response under guidance.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation, and operational standards.
