Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer to perform software systems engineering for aviation programs. This full-time, on-site role is based at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD and requires an active security clearance.

The ideal candidate has at least ten years of software and systems engineering experience, familiarity with military avionics, MBSE, and Agile processes.

Qualifications

• Ten years of software and systems engineering experience.
• Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software.
• Active Secret clearance required (Top Secret possible later).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements.
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration.
• Analyze software defects.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts.
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs).
• Support ECP process and SOW/CDRL preparation.
• Develop IGCEs and assist in evaluating contractor proposals.
