Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer to perform software systems engineering for acquisition, development and sustainment of aviation programs. This full‑time, on-site role is based at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD.

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required, with potential to obtain Top Secret. The position requires 10+ years in software and systems engineering, experience with military avionics, and a BS in a technical ABET-accredited program.

Qualifications

Ten years of experience performing software and systems engineering activities.
Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software.
Active Secret clearance (potential upgrade to TS) and eligibility for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software requirements.
Review and evaluate vendor software specifications.
Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration.
Analyze software defects.
Coordinate with cybersecurity specialists.
Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs).
Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process.
Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes.
Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals.
