Job summary
SimVentions, Inc. is seeking a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer for on-site work at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD.
The role covers software requirements, vendor coordination, and integration across aviation programs with a focus on security and reliability. The ideal candidate has extensive software and systems engineering experience, familiarity with avionic systems, and the ability to engage in Agile/SAFe processes while coordinating with cybersecurity experts.
Qualifications
- Ten years or more experience in software and systems engineering
- Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software
- Active Secret Clearance (potential Top Secret later)
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software requirements
- Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
- Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
- Conduct analysis of software defects
- Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts
- Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs)
- Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
- Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
- Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
- Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
- Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
