Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 10+ years of experience with architecture definition and design concepts and techniques
  • 5+ years of experience with Magic Systems of Systems Architect (MSOSA)
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience with SEIT and Application Lifecycle Management toolchains
  • 5+ years of experience with analytical, risk management, and process measurement skills
  • 5+ years of experience communicating and managing stakeholders, including presenting technical results and readiness recommendations to senior leadership
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating with IT security and applying security/compliance constraints to architecture definition
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and practices
  • Prior aerospace, defense, or large-scale integrated system program experience highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture effort for the Sapphire program and report to the Sapphire SEIT leader
  • Collaborate across subsystems and IPTs to plan, design, develop, and verify complex software systems
  • Define system performance requirements and coordinate interfaces
  • Perform analyses to optimize the system of systems and architecture
  • Plan and execute SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, and developmental gates
  • Integrate SOW and technical specs into IPT workflows
  • Create MBSE infrastructures and trace requirements
  • Coordinate with IT security and ensure compliance constraints are applied
  • Lead risk, issue, and opportunity boards or technical reviews when needed
  • Travel up to 20% may be required

Job description

• Lead the architecture effort for the Sapphire program with the IDT&S Chief Architect
• Report to the Sapphire SEIT leader
• Collaborate across subsystems and with Integrated Product Teams to plan, design, develop, and verify complex software application systems
• Evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements and coordinate interfaces
• Perform analyses to optimize the total system of systems and system architecture
• Identify unassigned scope and ensure appropriate distribution
• Identify and resolve cross-functional and cross-IPT technical issues
• Participate in or lead system and subsystem-level technical, cost, and schedule trades
• Potentially lead SEIT-level Risk, Issue and Opportunity Boards or Technical Review Boards
• Integrate the SEIT statement of work and technical specification into IPT workflows
• Create requirements and model-based systems engineering infrastructures
• Allocate and derive performance and functional requirements and trace flow-down to lower levels
• Forecast and track requirements compliance activities
• Plan and execute systems engineering events including SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, and developmental gates
• Apply Boeing command media to satisfy event entrance and exit criteria
• Represent Sapphire systems engineering at events led by other IPTs
• Support additional roles as the program lifecycle evolves
• Travel up to 20% may be required

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 10+ years of experience with architecture definition and design concepts and techniques
  • 5+ years of experience with Magic Systems of Systems Architect (MSOSA)
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience with PDM/MOM/ERP integrations, middleware, ICDs, and digital thread concepts strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with SEIT and Application Lifecycle Management toolchains
  • 5+ years of experience with analytical, risk management, and process measurement skills
  • 5+ years of experience communicating and managing stakeholders, including presenting technical results and readiness recommendations to senior leadership
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating with IT security and applying security/compliance constraints to architecture definition
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required by the U.S. Government
  • Final U.S. Secret Clearance required post-start
  • U.S. Person status required for U.S. export control compliance

  • Must live in the immediate area of a listed location or relocate at own expense
  • Successful candidates must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process
  • Subject to applicable post-offer drug and alcohol testing
  • Familiarity with certification/regulatory processes relevant to the domain, such as DoD standards
