Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) seeks a Systems Architect to drive the architectural design and technical strategy for backplane connector solutions in high-speed applications across telecom/datacom and data center markets. You will translate system-level requirements into connector architectures and guide roadmaps with engineering, mechanical design, and product management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required or equivalent.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) desirable for the role.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant hardware and interconnect experience in IT/Datacom space.
• Background in signal transmission, EMI/EMC, signal integrity or materials tolerance analysis is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and technical strategy for customer solutions involving Amphenol’s high speed backplane connector portfolio (board-to-board, hybrid, and related topologies).
• Serve as the technical face of HSBP for strategic customers, including hyperscale and AI/ML infrastructure accounts, translating system-level requirements into connector architecture direction.
• Guide the HSBP product roadmap in coordination with SI engineering, mechanical design, and product management, aligning with emerging standards and customer timelines.
• Prepare and deliver high-level technical presentations to customer executives and internal leadership.
• Provide advanced technical support and rapid response on complex backplane interconnect problems raised by customers or internal teams.
• Devise and communicate differentiation strategy for HSBP products relative to competing backplane connector solutions.
• Partner with other business units to ensure a consistent systems-level narrative across Amphenol's interconnect portfolio.
