Job summary

RTX is seeking a System Safety Engineer in El Segundo, CA, to develop and execute MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs. You will assess hazards, coordinate with customer safety representatives, and work with engineering teams to implement effective controls.

Qualifications

Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with System Safety Engineering and/or Software Safety Engineering.
Experience with complex systems and evaluating them for risk.
Active and transferable TS/SCI clearance is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs and analyses.
Conduct hazard and design analyses to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.
Coordinate with customer safety representatives to clarify requirements and allocations.
Collaborate across disciplines to eliminate hazards and implement controls.
Provide lifecycle safety oversight from startup through disposal and document results.
