Job summary

RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking a System Safety Engineer to drive MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs and hazard analyses across the product lifecycle.

You will coordinate with customer safety representatives and Safety Review Board authorities, collaborating with Systems Engineering, Software, Electrical, and Hardware teams to implement controls and produce formal safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree with 5+ years in system safety or software safety.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882E or similar safety standards.
• Ability to perform hazard analyses and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs.
• Conduct hazard analyses and ensure design requirements meet standards.
• Coordinate with customer safety reps and Safety Review Board authorities.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines to mitigate hazards and document results.
• Prepare internal and customer-facing safety reports throughout the lifecycle.
