Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal System Safety Engineer for onsite work in Tucson, AZ. You will develop MIL-STD-882E safety programs, assess hazards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure lifecycle safety and compliance.

You will oversee safety tasks, budgets, and Earned Value Management, while mentoring junior engineers and engaging with government customers to deliver mission-critical, safe systems.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses.
• Experience writing technical reports and presenting safety status.

Responsibilities

• Develop MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs across lifecycle.
• Interpret requirements and standards to guide safety strategies.
• Manage safety tasks within IMS and coordinate with program leadership.
