Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer for onsite work in Tucson, AZ. You will develop and execute MIL-STD-882E-based system safety programs, conducting hazard analyses and coordinating with customer safety representatives to secure safety approvals.

Join a cross-disciplinary team across engineering domains to mitigate hazards throughout the product lifecycle, from startup through production and fielding. Active DoD clearance and strong reporting skills are preferred.

Qualifications

Typically requires STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in System Safety Engineering and Systems Engineering.
Experience writing technical reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

Develop MIL-STD-882E system safety programs and perform analyses.
Conduct hazard and design analyses to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.
Coordinate with customer safety representatives and Safety Review Board authorities for safety approval.
Lead System Safety Working Groups with Raytheon and customer teams.
Collaborate across disciplines to eliminate hazards or implement controls.
Support safety efforts from startup through production and disposal; brief on program status.
