Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior System Protection Engineer to join our Grid Services team. The role focuses on relay settings, protection philosophies, and power system studies for transmission and substation projects, with coordination of P&C design documents and field support.

Requirements include a ABET‑accredited electrical engineering degree and 7+ years of protection experience, plus proficiency with CAPE/ASPEN and relay software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program (or equivalent).
• 7+ years of experience in system protection engineering for transmission/substation projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interfacing.
• Experience with fault studies and relay coordination using CAPE/ASPEN or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead system protection engineering for transmission and substation projects.
• Develop and review P&C design documents (one‑/three‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring/logic diagrams, panel layouts).
• Provide protection settings development and verification using CAPE/ASPEN or equivalents.
• Support commissioning, field energization, and issue resolution with clients and field teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program (or equivalent)
