Job summary

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) invites applications for the full-time System Operator Trainer role in Rensselaer, NY. The position develops, delivers and documents power system operations training for NYISO staff and neighboring regions, using classroom, simulation, computer-based and on-the-job formats.

Candidates should have a strong background in power systems and training, plus experience with operator training simulators and documented training program design.

Qualifications

• Five years of related technical or engineering training experience.
• Experience delivering training to technical trade schools or junior colleges.
• Knowledge of Energy Management or control system software.
• Experience with operator training simulators (OTS) and training program design.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and document power system operations training for NYISO staff and partners.
• Deliver training in classroom, simulation, computer-based and on-the-job formats.
• Document training records for audit and compliance purposes.
• Participate in projects to develop training for NYCA Transmission System.
