Job summary

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) is seeking a Manager, System Operator Training to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive training program for system operators and support staff. This role ensures compliance with NERC, NPCC, and NYSRC requirements and maintains state-of-the-art training facilities and processes.

Qualifications

• Ten years of related experience.
• Three years of technical training facilitation and/or instructional design.
• Proficiency in analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs.
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills for a diverse, technical audience.
• Experience leading development/modification of operating procedures.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Leadership in training committees and technical working groups.
• Experience in power generation, grid operations, or utilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, development, implementation, and evaluation of NYISO Training programs using SAT.
• Develop trainer and SME adult learning theory knowledge and training fidelity.
• Acquire and maintain tools, facilities, and staff for realistic training environments.
• Evaluate and propose innovative training experiences.
• Plan and coordinate with NYISO operating subcommittees and training initiatives.
