Job summary

NYISO is seeking a System Operator Trainer to develop, deliver and document power system operations training for NYISO staff and regional partners. You will deliver classroom, simulation, computer-based and on-the-job training across NYISO and neighboring regions.

The role requires design, execution of training programs, and collaboration with Grid Operations to ensure operators are proficient with new systems and procedures. Strong knowledge of energy markets and compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of related technical or scientific/engineering training experience.
• Delivery of training to technical trade schools or junior colleges.
• Knowledge of Energy Management or control system software.
• Experience with a training simulator for power systems.
• Experience conducting power-system related training.

Responsibilities

• Participate in SAT phases to support SOT training programs.
• Collaborate with NPCC Control Areas, NYCA and North American TOs for joint training.
• Conduct Job Task Analysis with Grid Operations and update tasks as needed.
• Document and maintain training records for audits and compliance.
• Develop training for NYCA Transmission System operators.
• Lead User Acceptance Testing with Grid Operations for new projects.
