Job summary

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) invites applications for a full-time Manager, System Operator Training. This role leads the design, delivery, and evaluation of a coordinated training program for NYISO and Transmission Owner operators to ensure reliable system operation in line with NERC/NPCC/NYSRC requirements.

Qualifications

• Ten years of related experience.
• Three years of technical training facilitation and/or instructional design.
• Demonstrated proficiency in analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs.
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with a diverse technical audience.
• Experience leading development/modification of operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, development, implementation, and evaluation of NYISO Training programs aligned to SAT.
• Develop instructional design and training fidelity across curricula.
• Acquire and maintain training tools, facilities, and environments.
• Develop trainer SME knowledge and evaluate innovative training experiences.
• Manage NYISO Operations Training participation in NPCC, IRC, NERC, NATF groups.
• Develop and maintain Operator Training Procedures for compliance.
• Evaluate and implement LMS and tracking for audits and certification.
• Select, develop, and manage trainers and engineers for NYISO programs.
• Prepare, administer, and monitor training budgets; negotiate contracts as needed.
• Maintain training documentation and reporting for compliance.
