RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Sustainment Automation Systems Engineer to join the CFIA organization in Tucson. You will sustain, develop, and implement automation solutions (robots, PLCs, HMIs, vision) to support manufacturing, and interact with factory, facilities, and leadership.

You will lead integration projects, troubleshoot complex systems, and contribute to the manufacturing technology strategy while traveling up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations, or 5+ years with an advanced STEM degree in Engineering.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Experience with integrating control systems (actuators, sensors, controls, robotics, and vision systems).
• Experience with PLC and HMI programming (Rockwell preferred).
• Experience programming robots (Fanuc preferred).
• Successful managing and executing medium to complex automation projects.

Responsabilités

• Provide troubleshooting and debug support for 30+ pieces of custom robotic systems around the factory
• Provide technical leadership through issue resolution
• Integrate software (PLCs, robotics, vision system, smart tools, etc) and hardware (sensors, actuators, servos, etc) to create or upgrade solutions.
• Technical liaison between factory, facilities, and leadership for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), spares management, and production sustainment execution
• Support production prove-in of new automation equipment
• Provide troubleshooting and debug support for production systems.
• Contribute to the overall manufacturing technology strategy for the business.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.
