RTX’s Industry 4.0 – CFIA organization seeks a Sustainment Automation Systems Engineer to lead sustainment, development, and implementation of automation solutions in manufacturing. You’ll work on robots, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems, integrating with Ignition and business systems.

You will troubleshoot, lead technically, and coordinate TPM activities, spares, and production sustainment while supporting prove-in of new equipment. Travel up to 25% and onsite work in Tucson, AZ are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8 years of experience or 5+ years with an advanced STEM degree in Engineering
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date
• Experience with integrating control systems (actuators, sensors, controls, robotics, and vision systems)
• Experience with PLC and HMI programming (Rockwell preferred)
• Experience programming robots (Fanuc preferred)
• Successful managing and executing medium to complex automation projects

Responsabilités

• Provide troubleshooting and debug support for 30+ robotic systems around the factory
• Provide technical leadership through issue resolution
• Integrate software (PLCs, robotics, vision system, etc) and hardware to create or upgrade solutions
• Technical liaison between factory, facilities, and leadership for TPM, spares management, and production sustainment execution
• Support production prove-in of new automation equipment
• Provide troubleshooting and debug support for production systems
• Contribute to the overall manufacturing technology strategy for the business
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time
