RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Sustainment Automation Systems Engineer to lead and implement automation solutions in manufacturing. You will work with robots, PLCs, HMIs, vision systems and Ignition to sustain, develop, and improve production capabilities.

The role requires extensive experience in control systems integration, PLC/HMI programming, and robotics, plus the ability to travel up to 25% and obtain Interim Secret clearance. Onsite work location is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ years with an advanced STEM degree.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret US clearance prior to start.
• Experience integrating control systems (actuators, sensors, robotics, vision).
• Experience with PLC and HMI programming (Rockwell preferred).
• Experience programming robots (Fanuc preferred).
• Proven track record delivering automation projects.

Responsabilités

• Provide troubleshooting and debug support for 30+ robotic systems in the factory.
• Provide technical leadership through issue resolution.
• Integrate software and hardware to create or upgrade automation solutions.
• Liaise with factory, facilities, and leadership for TPM and spares.
• Support prove-in of new automation equipment.
• Travel up to 25%.
