Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technology professional to provide direct and indirect patient care, assist surgeons, and mentor teammates. The role includes scrubbing, preparing operative fields, and ensuring efficient case turnarounds.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA) required.
• Certificate/degree in Surgical Technology required (certification or associate degree).

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments, equipment, and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before patient entry.
• Organize back table and mayo for smooth turnover.
• Anticipate case needs and coordinate with team for efficiency.
• Precept and mentor surgical techs and RNs as needed.
• Assist in running mayo and adapting to surgeon preferences.
• Manage intra-op events and ensure patient safety and privacy.
