Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a surgical technologist to assist surgeons, prepare sterile fields, and support a wide range of operative cases. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Required are an Associate's degree or Surgical Technology certificate and BLS certification. New grads accepted; candidates should be able to mentor peers, scrub and assist, and adapt to varied specialties while maintaining patient safety.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days (AHA)
• Associate’s degree or Surgical Technology certificate
• New grads accepted

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete and functional
• Set up sterile field and scrub before patient entry
• Scrub and assist across cases; run mayo and back table
• Precept RNs and techs; mentor staff and students
• Plan for intra-op events and respond to changes as needed
