Job summary

Advocate Health in Aurora, CO seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures. You will contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient environment, assist with a wide range of surgical cases, and collaborate with the surgical team.

The role requires proficiency in aseptic techniques, suturing, and excellent patient care. BLS certification and completion of an approved Surgical Technology program are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) certification within 6 months if required.

Responsibilities

• Provides a clean, safe and efficient operating area for patient care, using aseptic techniques.
• Performs procedures and supports a variety of cases, serving as a resource for colleagues and assisting with complex surgeries.
• Maintains OR environment safety and cleanliness, sets up and returns equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Notifies staff of equipment or supply issues and transports patients/equipment as needed.
• Maintains and checks specialty carts or items for completeness and sterility; arranges repairs when needed.
• Acts as a resource and may precept Surgical Technologists I or participate in department initiatives.
• Performs patient positioning and moving tasks, adhering to proper technique and safety.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific patient care needs and applies department policies accordingly.
