Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to support the operating room team. The role requires setup and operation of diverse surgical equipment, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting with complex cases as needed.

You will prepare sterile fields and pass instruments to surgeons while ensuring patient safety. Minimum qualifications include completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
• Demonstrated ability to meet Surgical Technologist I competencies.
• Familiarity with and adept with all types of procedures within their specialty.
• Proficient in all types of surgical procedures and maintains advanced knowledge of procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs all types of procedures and maintains advanced knowledge of a variety of procedures.
• Sets up and operates equipment per physician specifications; maintains specialty cart and ensures equipment sterility.
• Precepts Surgical Technologists I and assists with complex cases as needed.
• Ensures sterile field and assists in gowning, gloving, draping, passing instruments, and maintaining aseptic technique.
• Relays equipment or supply problems to appropriate staff; participates in call coverage and educational activities.
