The position emphasizes aseptic technique, instrument handling, and assisting surgeons during procedures. Responsibilities include setting up the OR, passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and collaborating with the OR team to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques in preparing materials and instruments.
• Familiarity with operating room equipment used during procedures.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and orders.
• Team members must maintain annual educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and drape the surgical area, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field.
• Assist surgeons by anticipating needs and supporting second assistant duties.
• Set up the OR, transport equipment, and ensure environmental safety and cleanliness.
• Notify staff of equipment and supply issues and ensure cart completeness.
• Assist in patient positioning and moving equipment with proper technique.
