The role requires troubleshooting scheduling issues, monitoring workflow for efficiency, training staff, and collaborating with surgeons, providers, billing, and clinical teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred or related experience.
• 5+ years of scheduling experience, preferably surgical scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures across multiple locations.
• Monitor front office workflow and adjust for optimal service delivery.
• Verify patient demographics and obtain pre-certification from insurers.
• Obtain patient medical clearance and coordinate scheduling with surgeons.
• Train and mentor scheduling staff within the unit.
• Input surgical information in EPIC and track data in CERNER.
• Communicate with physicians, departments, and billing to secure approvals.
• Coordinate COVID testing and instrument needs for cases.
• Liaise between referring physicians and surgeons for case coordination.
• Monitor OR block time and ensure appropriate room assignment.
• Support peer-to-peer communications with carriers and hospital operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
