Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred for scheduling operations.
  • Certificate in Medical Technology preferred.
  • Certificate in ICD-9 preferred.
  • Certificate in CPT coding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures.
  • Monitor front office workflow to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Verify patient demographics and obtain pre-certification from insurers for all OR surgeries and procedures.
  • Obtain patient medical clearance.
  • Resolve questions regarding policies and procedures.
  • Place surgical confirmation calls one day prior to scheduled date.
  • Schedule post-op follow-up visits with providers.
  • Serve as liaison between referring physicians and surgeons for scheduling and data sharing.
  • Train and mentor other scheduling staff.
  • Distribute paperwork to internal and external parties to coordinate surgeries.
  • Record hospital reservations and pre-admit data in CERNER system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate degree preferred
Certificate in Medical Technology preferred
Certificate in ICD-9 preferred
Certificate in CPT coding preferred
