Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a supplier quality engineer to shape the quality of aerospace suppliers across launch vehicles and spacecraft components. You will drive supplier assessments, containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years in a manufacturing environment, with at least 4 years in a supplier quality engineering role.
• Quality assurance/engineering experience in an aerospace production environment.
• Technical knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and supplier quality records.
• Led supplier corrective actions and containment activities; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate suppliers for capability, quality-system maturity, capacity, and stability.
• Monitor supplier quality performance; identify trends, risks, and improvements.
• Lead containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and recovery planning.
• Drive reductions in nonconformances, defects, and escapes.
• Participate in supplier assessments, audits, and hardware verification activities.
• Ensure compliance of supplier processes with drawings and contractual requirements.
• Support program reviews and align with production requirements and long-term goals.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Communicate performance, risks, and corrective actions to stakeholders and leadership.
• Assist transitions of hardware from development to production and promote safety culture.
