Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to build and manage qualification programs for our supplier base. You will work on-site with critical suppliers, leading audits and development initiatives to improve quality, delivery, and technical maturity.

You will collaborate across engineering, procurement, and quality teams, traveling to supplier facilities as needed to ensure readiness and compliance with AS9100-like standards, ultimately enabling safe, repeatable spaceflight.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or higher in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in supplier development or manufacturing engineering with supplier-facing accountability.
• Willingness to travel regularly to supplier facilities.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification activities through four-gate pathway: survey, on-site audit, first article, rate readiness.
• Conduct on-site supplier audits to evaluate process maturity, quality systems, and readiness.
• Maintain qualification files from assessment to production readiness.
• Develop programs with strategic and preferred suppliers, including DtM workshops and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality to establish a quality baseline before entry into the approved supply base.
• Maintain enterprise qualification library for cross-program reuse.
• Support international supplier development with global standards.
• Contribute to supplier conferences for performance alignment and partnerships.
• Build and maintain data in systems of record to support sourcing decisions.
