Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive quality across the supplier base for launch vehicles and spacecraft components. You will lead containment, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions while interfacing with engineering and program teams to ensure production readiness.

The role requires aerospace quality knowledge, ability to review complex drawings and plans, and travel up to 50%. A bachelor’s in a technical field and U.S. citizenship or eligible status are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years in a manufacturing environment, incl. at least 4 years in a Supplier Quality Engineering role.
• Experience in aerospace production environment.
• Technical knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing/inspection plans, and supplier quality records.
• Leading supplier corrective actions and root-cause investigations.
• Ability to communicate risks clearly to suppliers and senior leaders.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and U.S. citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current and prospective suppliers for capability, quality-system maturity, capacity, and stability.
• Monitor supplier quality performance and identify trends and risks.
• Lead containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and recovery planning.
• Drive reductions in supplier nonconformances and defects.
• Conduct supplier assessments and quality-system/process audits.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Support reviews to align with production requirements and objectives.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement and program teams.
