Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to build and execute programs that qualify suppliers and drive improvements in quality, delivery, and cost. You will lead the four-gate pathway from capability survey through first article and rate readiness, initiating qualifications ahead of demand and staying on-site with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in supplier development, manufacturing engineering, or a related cross-functional role with supplier-facing accountability.
• Experience planning and executing supplier audits or manufacturing readiness assessments.
• Ability to travel regularly to supplier facilities.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification activities through Blue Origin's four-gate pathway, initiating qualifications proactively.
• Conduct on-site supplier audits to evaluate manufacturing maturity, quality systems, and readiness.
• Own and maintain qualification files from assessment to production.
• Drive supplier development programs with strategic and preferred tier suppliers.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality to assess QMS capability and set quality baselines.
• Maintain the enterprise qualification library for cross-program reuse.
• Support international supplier development with consistent standards.
• Contribute to supplier conferences to align on performance and roadmaps.
• Build qualification and capability data in systems of record for visibility.
