Job summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction in Duluth, MN is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on large, complex projects and coordinate safety, quality, and schedule with the Project Manager.

You will supervise on-site teams, review plans, manage productivity and costs, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with AP’s safety and quality programs while fostering strong owner and design-team relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field plus 8+ years of construction management experience.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Proficiency with construction management software (Prolog, P6, MS Project) and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Take on-site construction activities for projects ranging from small to large and complex.
• Understand plans, specifications, and details; maintain updated drawings.
• Procure tools, equipment, and materials; train jobsite teams on tools and processes.
• Manage project schedule, cost codes, budgets, and production units; maintain productivity and reporting.
• Ensure trade contractors meet schedule and quality requirements; maintain positive relationships.
• Develop and implement site quality plans; monitor compliance and performance.
• Lead safety initiatives; conduct on-site safety meetings and review contractor safety programs.
• Coordinate with owner and design team; communicate goals and expectations clearly.
• Mentor and coach team members; contribute to staffing decisions and development.
