Job summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction in Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to oversee field operations, safety, scheduling, and quality across projects generally under $5 million. You will collaborate with the Superintendent and Project Manager to coordinate trades and procurement, while maintaining AP's safety culture.

Applicants should have a construction management degree or equivalent experience, proficient with industry software, and a track record of delivering

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary degree or significant related experience per job requirements.
• Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, MS Project, P6, Excel, AutoCad, and Revit.
• Solid understanding of plans, specs, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
• OSHA safety knowledge and proven safety initiative results.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks and travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on‑site construction activities and safety program adherence.
• Understand plans and maintain updated drawings as a permanent record.
• Schedule, procure tools and materials; train crew on tools and processes.
• Collaborate with project team in start‑up and close‑out meetings.
• Manage cost codes, budgets and production units for assigned portions.
• Ensure quality control per AP standards and safety literature postings.
• Troubleshoot site challenges and document changes and requests.
• Support pre‑construction planning and constructability reviews.
• Assist with pre‑construction scheduling and procurement items.
• Build client relationships and participate in industry activities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field

High school diploma or equivalent with 7+ years directly related experience

Strong analytical and communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities
