Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years of utility-industry experience to lead design reviews of steel, concrete, and foundation structures for substation projects. You will mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and seismic loading.

Preferred location options include Orlando, FL or other US sites; periodic site visits and travel to client meetings are expected.

Qualifications

BS degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
PE License is required.
SE licensure is preferred.
Experience with Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Mathcad, required.
Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile, required.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation, required.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
Develop junior staff and oversee project execution within scope, schedule and budget.
Perform design work and reviews under seismic loading conditions.
Travel to client sites and participate in meetings and industry events as needed.
