Job summary

Leidos seeks a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility industry to lead design reviews and manage projects for substations. The role involves developing junior staff, collaborating with clients and staff, and performing site visits as needed.

Portland, OR is preferred, with occasional travel to client sites; remote work may be considered within time zones. The candidate will review steel, concrete structures and foundations, ensuring compliance with industry codes

Qualifications

BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or MS with 3+ years.
PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain within 3–12 months.
SE licensure preferred.
Experience with Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software.
Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

Lead projects as a senior engineer and perform design reviews of civil/structural components.
Develop junior staff and mentor within the team.
Perform site visits to client substations and support bid/construction packages.
Coordinate with clients and staff to ensure scope, schedule, and budget compliance.
