Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Freeport, ME, with offices in Hallowell, NY, MI, MN, OH, and NY, is seeking an Experienced Substation Structural Engineer to support our Civil/Structural Group.

You will provide technical guidance for planning, analysis, and design of structural solutions for electrical substation projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of post-education engineering experience in structural or civil design.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles, design processes and code compliance.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Ability to coordinate with regulators and understand requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze data from site surveys, blueprints, GIS data and maps for project development.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspect site conditions for conformance with standards.
• Incorporate advanced modeling, design requirements and operating strategies for safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work and guide installations.
• Prepare data, calculations, reports and 2D/3D visualizations for interpretation and presentation.
• Maintain quality control and safety documentation; support junior staff.
