Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced Substation Structural Engineer to join our Power Delivery Civil/Structural Group with open roles in Freeport, ME and other locations including Hallowell, ME and several U.S. cities.

In this role you will provide planning, analysis, design, and delivery of structural solutions for electrical substation projects, coordinating with clients and teams to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and EIT certification.
• 3–5 years of post-education engineering experience with structural/civil design.
• Knowledge of structural design principles, practices, and codes.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Ability to coordinate with regulators and ensure compliance.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and technical writing skills.
• Experience with the listed design software tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning, analysis, and delivery of structural solutions for electrical substation projects.
• Model, design, and inspect structures including steel frames and foundations.
• Prepare reports, calculations, and 2D/3D illustrations for project teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, regulators, and clients across multiple locations.
• Mentor junior team members and uphold safety standards.
