Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced Substation Structural Engineer for our Power Delivery Civil/Structural Group. The role supports projects across Freeport, ME, and U.S. offices in New York, Syracuse, Ann Arbor, Minneapolis, and New Albany.

You will perform design, analysis, and documentation for load‑bearing structures associated with electrical substations. Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s in structural/civil engineering, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and an EIT certification.

Qualifications

• Degree in structural or civil engineering required with EIT designation preferred.
• 3–5 years post‑education experience in structural or civil design.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and permits for substation projects.
• Experience with design software and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, analysis, design, and delivery of substation structural solutions.
• Create reports and documentation on materials, installations and specs.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners and other professionals.
• Develop 2D/3D visualizations to interpret data and findings.
• Mentor junior team members and uphold safety policies.
