WSP is hiring an Experienced Substation Structural Engineer for our Power Delivery Civil/Structural Group. Positions are open in Freeport, ME and other locations: Hallowell, ME; New York, NY; Syracuse, NY; Ann Arbor, MI; Minneapolis, MN; New Albany, OH.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant post‑education experience in engineering and prior structural or civil design experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build, and application to project work‑related issues.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design.

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile, and analyze data from sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and other sources for project development, design, and construction.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and assist with research and inspections of site conditions to determine conformance with rules, standards, and permits.
• Incorporate advanced modeling techniques and design requirements to account for safety and functionality of end‑users and vehicles.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute project work, lay out installations, establish elevations, select durable materials, and ensure compliance.
• Prepare data and visualizations for interpretation or presentation.
• Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate measurements and reporting.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
• Assist in site health and safety plans (HASPs) and coordinate with regulators.
